"Postcards from the Platform's Edge" - Signed, Author’s Limited Edition
Postcards from the Platform's Edge is a collection composed of eighty-four of our favourite essays, that start somewhere ordinary and end up somewhere else entirely. Much is hidden in the quiet simplicity of ordinary things. The journey of the humble croissant. The philosophy of a ham sandwich and what turns up when words tell us where they're from.
In between: home and memory, language and belonging, travel, curiosity, and the gentle beauty of days when nothing much happens.
Written over 12 months, from the quiet corners of rural France, each essay stands alone, short enough to read and say "Hmm...". Which is what reading was supposed to do. Sometimes funny, sometimes wistful, occasionally arguing with themselves, they all suspect the same thing: that real life is far more interesting than we give it credit for.
These were never meant to be rushed. Little dispatches from the edge of the everyday - read them front to back, or hop on and off the train at random, and see where the journey leads.
